INSTRUCTION TO AUTHORS: JOURNAL OF AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY AND FISHERIES (JAFF)

GUIDE TO CONTRIBUTORS

  1. 1. The Journal of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (JAFF) is an annual publication of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Benin, and Benin City, Niger The Journal publishes research work in Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation and other allied and related which have been peer-reviewed.
  2. 2. Manuscripts should be submitted in triplicate or send to Email: jaff_agric@uniben.edu . The first page should start with the Title of the paper, followed by the name(s) and address(es) of the Author(s). This should be followed by the Abstract of the paper. Five keywords that describe the Study should be provided. 
  1. 3. The second page of the manuscript should start with Introduction, followed by Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgement (if any), and References. 
  1. 4. Tables and Figures should be numbered in Arabic cha Each Table or Figure should be in a separate page and the same data should not be presented as both Table and Figure.
  2. 5. In the text, reference should be cited by Author's surname and date of publication, e.g.  Iremiren(1998), Ikuenobe and Ayeni (1998) of Iremiren et al. (1997) where there are more than two Authors. The references should be listed alphabetical order and Journal papers should be cited as follows: Iremiren, G.O., Adewumi, P.O., Aduloju,S.O. and Ibitoye, A.A. (1997). Effect of paclobutrazol and nitrogen fertilizer on the growth and yield of maize. Journal of Agricultural Science (Cambridge) 128:425-430. Books should be cited as follows: Norman, J.C. (1992). Tropical Vegetable Crops. Arthur H. Stowell Ltd., Devon, U.K. Articles in edited books should be cited as follows: Cross, A.E., Moore, D., and Fischer, R.C. (1993). The mango mealybug and its parasitoids. In: Proceedings of an Internationa! Symposium on Biological Control, 20-23 March 1992, Aleppo, Syria. Fischer, R.C. (Editor). John Wiley Chichescer, U.K. pp. 157-162.
  1. 6. Contributors  should  submit  manuscripts  To  the  editor-in-Chief  (JAFF)  and  this  should  be accompanied with a handling charge of two thousand Naira (N2000.00) or US $40.00. Payable into Zenith Bank Account number (1013430246). Manuscript should be typed with ample margin (4cm) on both sides of the paper, 210mmx297mm (A4) and a font of 12pt should be used. Pages should be numbered consecutively.
  1. 7. Publication charges will be communicated to Authors when articles are found acceptable.
